Packaging production generates a daily volume of wastewater of around 100L from various water-based cleaning operations, such as screen degreasing and stripping, resulting from a screen-printing process. This wastewater is stored before being disposed of by an external service provider, at a cost of almost €200 per m3. With a view to putting an end to the storage of wastewater and being able to discharge the treated water into the sewage system, our customer chose NISKAE’s ingenuity to help it find the right solution for its application.
Custom packaging expert calls on NISKAE expertise for SW100 station installation
Manufacturing and supplying customized, eco-responsible packaging is what our French Customer does every day. As an expert in the design and manufacture of custom packaging, he is committed to ensuring that his diverse range of products is made from sustainable, environmentally-friendly materials. For this to happen, the entire production process must be environmentally friendly. This is what prompted our customer to turn to NISKAE, experts in industrial and wastewater treatment, to find a reliable and efficient solution for the storage of its process water.
Stored water at too high a cost
Effluent treatment with customized reagent
Our customer sent us a sample of his wastewater for analysis by our NISKAE laboratory experts, in order to develop the right reagent for treating his water. Only 2 g/L of the flocculant-coagulant reagent designed specifically for our Customer was needed to obtain translucent, colorless water from a black solution.
This formulation also enabled us to reduce the concentration of heavy metals such as Copper, Iron and Zinc, from a respective concentration of 0.02 mg/L, 0.08mg/L and 0.07mg/L, to a low concentration of 0.01 mg/L for each after treatment. This physico-chemical reagent also maintains a neutral pH of 7.48. In addition, the sludge retained by the filter box is non-sticky and easily dewatered, enabling it to be disposed of as waste.
NISKAE provides its customer with a SW100 microstation.
In order to treat the cleaning water resulting from the stripping and degreasing process for screen printing, our Customer called on NISKAE’s expertise to provide the necessary support throughout the process of acquiring an industrial water treatment plant.
Given the Customer’s needs, NISKAE proposed a SW100 treatment plant, enabling the company to ensure that its water treatment process is both compliant and environmentally friendly.
The proposed plant is semi-automatic, providing treatment batches of 100L, and equipped with all the safety features required for safe industrial operation. It also comprises a washing station for screen-printing screens, and a wastewater recovery system with a collecting tank and a lift pump for transferring wastewater from the washing station to the treatment reactor.
All made possible by NISKAE
NISKAE has enabled its Customer to benefit from real expertise in industrial water treatment, with tailor-made reagents and complete equipment adapted to its needs. From now on, the company will be able to reuse its wastewater and will no longer need to store it for later disposal. Not only is this an important benefit for the company, which will be able to pursue its environmental approach, but this solution also represents significant time savings and annual savings of almost 75%, and therefore several thousand euros.
